Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2025. As we celebrate Christmas 2024 and welcome the New Year 2025; it is worthwhile to reflect on our Christian Christmas traditions.
Christmas is a time of spiritual reflection and celebration on God’s love for the world through the birth of Jesus Christ. At the same time, our mindset should be geared towards reflecting on lessons learned this past year and preparing to embrace the challenges and opportunities afforded in 2025. It is in this spirit that I embrace this occasion, on behalf of the National Sports Council (NSC) to convey Christmas greetings and an abundance of best wishes for physical, spiritual and mental wellness to all Grenadians.
The National Sports Council (NSC) has been entrusted with the mandate to stimulate and facilitate the development of sports in Grenada, develop strategic initiatives to promote grassroots participation in sports at all levels, provide support and infrastructure for the Parish Sports Council, strengthen partnerships with federations and other sporting bodies in Grenada. Concurrently secretariat support will be made available for existing leagues, clubs and quasi-sports organisations to assist their efforts with organising and execution of their scheduled competitions, capacity-building programmes, coaching programmes and other logical needs to promote effectiveness and accountability.
Setting the parameters for physical activity for all is a priority in 2025, starting at the community/ grassroots level and diffusing throughout the length and breadth of our tri-island state.
