Laluna Boutique Hotel & Villas announces a successful “Double Your Impact” Initiative for Hurricane Beryl relief efforts
In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Beryl on 1 July 2024, Laluna launched a relief fund to aid affected communities. Through the “Double Your Impact” initiative, we invited past guests and friends to contribute, pledging to match 100% of all donations received.
Since the launch of this initiative, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Thanks to the generosity of our guests and friends, we have successfully raised more than $55,000 in donations.
“We are deeply grateful for the incredible support shown by our guests and friends,” said Bernardo Bertucci, owner of Laluna. “The matching contributions from Laluna means that over $110,000 will be directed towards hurricane relief efforts, providing much-needed assistance to those impacted by Hurricane Beryl.”
After various consultations with government officials, we have decided to utilise the funds raised to provide assistance to young students from the sister islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique to ensure they can successfully continue their education in Grenada. This support will help them recover from the immediate impacts of the hurricane and to focus on their academic goals. The assistance will be for the entire school year 2024/25 and involves support for paying for accommodation in Grenada, food, books and school supplies.
“Our deepest gratitude to Bernardo, Wendy and the Laluna family for this amazing “Double your Impact” Initiative. The students who will benefit from this kind gesture will be truly grateful for this generous help” said the Hon. Dickon Mitchell, who received the cheque on behalf of the Government of Grenada.
