Ministry of Youth begins MPower 4.0 registration

The Ministry of Youth and Sports announces that registration for MPower 4.0 in Carriacou will commence on Monday, 10 June 2024, at the Carriacou Youth Department in Hillsborough.

MPower is a male-oriented programme of the Division of Youth that caters to unemployed young men between the ages of 16 and 35.

The Division is encouraging those who have not participated in the programme before to enrol. They must be

  • Seeking an opportunity for self-development to become employable
  • Passionate about learning new skills
  • Eager to start a business

This new round begins with registration in each parish followed by the official launch and a Men’s Symposium. Other aspects of the programme include CORE Training, small business development, community service and Epic Fridays. Direct skills include Caribbean Vocational Qualifications (CVQ), National Vocational Qualification (NVQ), Skill Certification and Apprenticeship Training.

The programme concludes with a graduation ceremony and grant distribution to successful participants.

Registration begins at 9 am and ends at 3 pm at all centres.

Participants must submit a copy of a National ID (NIS Card, Voter’s ID or passport) and banking details. Young men who are interested, but who are not in possession of the documents/information listed above, will be provided with assistance to obtain them.
