The Ministry of Legal Affairs, Labour and Consumer Affairs advises the general public and all stakeholders that the official launch of the Grenada Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP) 2026–2031, originally scheduled to take place during the May Day celebrations in Carriacou on 1 May 2026, has been postponed to a date soon to be announced.

This decision was taken due to unforeseen circumstances, following consultations between the Government of Grenada, the Grenada Trades Union Council (GTUC), the Grenada Employers’ Federation (GEF), and the International Labour Organisation (ILO). All parties remain aligned in their commitment to the Decent Work Agenda and to ensuring that the programme is launched under conditions that best reflect its national significance and tripartite character.

The Grenada Decent Work Country Programme is a key national policy framework that will guide coordinated action to promote decent and productive employment, strengthen labour market governance, enhance social protection, improve occupational safety and health, advance skills development, and reinforce social dialogue over the period 2026–2031. The Programme was developed through an extensive and inclusive tripartite process with technical support and guidance from the ILO.

While the official launch has been deferred, the substantive work and preparatory activities related to the DWCP will continue, and the programme remains a priority for the ministry and its social partners. A revised date for the official launch and formal tripartite signing will be announced following further consultation.

The Ministry of Legal Affairs, Labour and Consumer Affairs reaffirms its strong partnership with the GTUC, the GEF, and the ILO, and its ongoing commitment to advancing decent work and social justice for all workers and employers in Grenada.
