Grenada hosts engagement on cybersecurity and cybercrime readiness

Civil servants across Grenada will convene on 13 April 2026 for a national Institutional Readiness Session on Cybersecurity and Cybercrime, a strategic engagement aimed at strengthening the public sector’s preparedness to address growing cyber threats and protect critical government systems.

The session, led by the National Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CSIRT Grenada), will bring together civil servants, security forces, digital service managers, and institutional leaders responsible for managing public information systems and citizen data.

The event forms part of the Caribbean Digital Transformation Project (CARDTP) Cybersecurity and Cybercrime Public Awareness Campaign, implemented in collaboration with CARICOM IMPACS and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission. The initiative seeks to strengthen cybersecurity awareness, promote safe digital practices, and support institutional readiness across participating Eastern Caribbean states.

As Grenada continues to advance its digital transformation agenda, including digital public services and data systems, the need for strong cybersecurity awareness within public institutions has become increasingly critical. Regional assessments highlight growing exposure to cyber threats such as phishing, ransomware attacks, identity theft, and unauthorised access to sensitive data.

The Institutional Readiness Session will provide civil servants with practical guidance on:

  • Secure handling of citizen and government data
  • Recognising and preventing phishing and online fraud
  • Strengthening internal reporting procedures for cyber incidents
  • Improving coordination across ministries and public agencies
  • Promoting a culture of cybersecurity within government institutions

Participants will also explore how national efforts align with the Caribbean Cybersecurity and Cybercrime Action Plan (CCSCAP) and broader regional initiatives designed to enhance cyber resilience.

The CARDTP awareness campaign targets multiple audiences, including youth, women, seniors, businesses, and public institutions, with tailored initiatives that promote safe online behaviour and strengthen digital resilience across society.

Members of the public are encouraged to stay alert online, seek assistance, and report any suspected cyber incidents. Citizens can contact the National Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CSIRT Grenada) at (473) 423-2478 or via email at [email protected].
