Post Title: Monitoring, Evaluation and Support Assistant
Ministry: Ministry of ICT
Project: Caribbean Digital Transformation Project
Duty location: Grenada National Training Agency
Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer, GNTA
Assignment Duration: 6 months internship
Background
Grenada’s National Sustainable Development Plan 2035 clearly identifies the digital economy as a priority area of public investment to enable the country to compete in the digital era and provide opportunities for its citizens. Rising youth unemployment is a critical concern for the Government of Grenada (GoG), and this requires the creation of opportunities that can meet the labour market needs of the 21st century. As part of its mandate, the GoG has embarked on a digitisation process across the public sector to strengthen service delivery, job creation and economic growth. However, there is a need to enhance the basic digital literacy of Grenadians to ensure that they can adapt and benefit from these modernisation and digitisation efforts. The Caribbean Digital Transformation Project (CARDTP) proposes to support the creation of a digitally enabling environment through the implementation of digital skills development programmes for Grenadians.
The CARDTP is focused on the provision of training and certification for citizens through a Basic Digital Literacy programme. The CARDTP recognises the importance of training citizens to integrate technology and digital skills in their everyday life since it is one of the critical 21st-century tools required for the development of individuals in order to operate and function in the current environment. Training in ICT will also help to improve communication with all relevant stakeholders.
CARDTP has therefore requested the services of the National Training Agency (NTA) to provide this training for a cohort of citizens to be trained in Basic Digital Literacy. The NTA is therefore committed to building capacity to deliver online and blended TVET programmes through this engagement, as well as strengthening monitoring and evaluation. This support will also advance the NTA’s digital transformation effort, through the use of the Moodle Learning Management System and the implementation of a TVET Management Information System.
