The Grenada Olympic Committee proudly announces that Coach Lee Cuffie has successfully completed the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Programme (ICECP), receiving his diploma in Switzerland during a formal ceremony attended by international sporting dignitaries.

The diploma was presented to Coach Cuffie by none other than International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach.

Coach Cuffie’s successful completion of the ICECP marks a significant milestone not only in his professional coaching career but also in Grenada’s ongoing development in high-performance sport. The ICECP, organised by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee in collaboration with the University of Delaware and supported by Olympic Solidarity, is a globally respected coaching education programme that provides advanced training and development opportunities for national-level coaches.

Coach Cuffie, a long-standing figure in Grenadian athletics, has made commendable contributions to the sport, particularly in nurturing and preparing athletes for regional and international competition. His commitment and expertise have played a pivotal role in elevating Grenada’s presence on the athletics stage.

“We are immensely proud of Coach Lee Cuffie’s achievement,” said Bernard Wilson, President of the Grenada Olympic Committee. “His dedication to excellence and to the development of Grenadian athletes continues to inspire the sporting community. His ICECP diploma reflects not just personal success, but national progress in sport leadership and education.”

In reflecting on his achievement, Coach Cuffie stated: “Receiving this diploma from President Bach is a moment I will never forget. The ICECP has equipped me with valuable tools that will enhance my approach to athlete development and coaching in Grenada. I’m grateful to the Grenada Olympic Committee and Olympic Solidarity for their support. This is a win for all aspiring coaches and athletes across our island.” Coach Cuffie’s ICECP project focused on long-term athlete development, which he intends to implement in partnership with local sports bodies to further strengthen Grenada’s athletic development programmes. The Grenada Olympic Committee extends its heartfelt congratulations to Coach Cuffie and looks forward to his continued contribution to sports in Grenada.
