The Rotaract Club of Grenada is excited to celebrate its 47th anniversary, marking a significant milestone of community service, leadership development, and social impact.
To commemorate this achievement, the club has organised a series of engaging events running from 19–25 January, with the peak of celebrations taking place on 21 January — the club’s official charter day.
The week kicked off with a church service on Sunday, 19 January at the St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, where members gathered in reflection and gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Grenadian community. The following day, 20 January, was celebrated as Media Day, with the club engaging the public through interviews and social media highlights, showcasing the club’s impact and upcoming events.
On 21 January, the Rotaract Club of Grenada marked its Charter Day with a meaningful community service donation to the Grenada Planned Parenthood Association (GPPA), providing free medical services, including pap smears, for young women in the community. The celebrations continued on 22 January with a Professional Development Meeting, where members focused on entrepreneurship, equipping themselves with valuable tools for personal and professional growth. On 23 January, an International Service Webinar took place aligning with Rotary’s January theme of promoting vocational services and showcasing how skills-based initiatives can contribute to community development.

The following day, 24 January, was a Club Service activity, where members enjoyed a social lime with the Rotaract Club of Grenada East, strengthening the bond between the 2 clubs and fostering collaboration. The week closed with a celebratory brunch on 25 January, where the club honoured its members with awards, and pinned new members to continue building its future leadership.
Throughout the week and beyond, the Rotaract Club of Grenada remains committed to its mission of service and development. Over the past year, the club has led a variety of impactful community projects, such as:
- Hurricane Beryl Relief Aid: Immediate response to those affected by Hurricane Beryl, providing vital support and resources to those in need
- Back to School with a Difference: In collaboration with local entities such as Digicel, Huggins, Gittens Pharmacare, S Kumar, and Hubbard’s, barbers and hairdressers, the club offered free school supplies, hair styling and haircuts to students, ensuring they started the new school year with confidence
- International Coastal Cleanup: Volunteers gathered at Fort Jeudy Beach and the Blow Hole, collecting 15 jumbo bags of trash to preserve Grenada’s beautiful environment
- Breakfast Sale: A community initiative to raise funds for ongoing service projects
- Movie Night Under the Stars, Halloween Edition: One of our major recurring fundraisers, combining entertainment and philanthropy for a fun-filled evening
- Donation to Spring’s Child Development Centre: Contributions of books, toys, clothes, diapers, games, and strollers to help support the children and workers at the centre
- Mental Health Webinar: Addressing the important topic of mental health, offering valuable information and resources to the public and district
- Mentor Up, Building Men’s Health Champions: An empowering initiative promoting the health and well-being of young men through mentorship, physical health activities, and discussions on mental health between mentors and mentees
- Make A Wish Come True Christmas Donation: In collaboration with Youth For a Sustainable Future (Y4SF), the club fulfilled the holiday wish lists of children at the Bel Air Children’s Home, gifting them with toys and providing 6 large grocery hampers for the home

These projects reflect the club’s ongoing commitment to service, leadership, and the development of Grenada’s future leaders. Through these efforts, the Rotaract Club of Grenada is not only making a lasting impact on local communities but also fostering the personal and professional growth of its members.
The club expresses its heartfelt thanks to the citizens of Grenada for their continued support, as the club’s ability to carry out these initiatives relies on the generosity and involvement of the community. As a non-profit organisation, every contribution makes a difference, allowing Rotaract to continue serving Grenada’s people and furthering its mission.
“We are incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished over the last 47 years,” said Ashleigh John, the current club president. “However, none of this would be possible without the unwavering support of the public. We look forward to continuing our work in the community and growing together as a society, making a positive impact in the lives of those around us.”
As the Rotaract Club of Grenada moves forward, it remains dedicated to empowering young people, creating lasting change, and being a trusted pillar in the community.
