The Government of Grenada has officially signed 13 cooperation agreements with the People’s Republic of China.

This achievement not only marks the 20th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations, but it solidifies China’s commitment to supporting the economy and people of the tri-island state.

The resumption of our diplomatic relations in 2005 was marked by a journey defined by collaboration, mutual understanding, and shared aspirations. Today, we can reflect on this journey and affirm that our partnership has yielded remarkable benefits for the people of Grenada and China, significantly contributing to our national development.

The agreements signed by Hon. Joseph Andall, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Export Development, and Hon. Lennox Andrews, Minister for Economic Development, Planning, and Cooperatives; Agriculture & Lands, Forestry, and Marine Resources cover a wide range of areas, including agriculture, energy and the environment, renewable energy, arts, culture and tourism, and the blue economy.

Prime Minister Mitchell welcomed this significant achievement for the people of Grenada as it represents our gratitude and commitment to maintaining our connections with the People’s Republic of China.

“The 20th anniversary demonstrates growth; the seed that was planted back in 2005 has blossomed into a tree that is bearing fruit for both the people of Grenada and China through agriculture, infrastructure, cultural exchanges, and healthcare. Through these agreements, we continue to build a stronger bridge of collaboration that will bring tangible benefits to our people, creating new opportunities for growth and development,” said Prime Minister, Hon. Dickon Mitchell.

The Government of Grenada and the People’s Republic of China celebrate this significant milestone in the history of our 2 nations: 20 years of enduring friendship, mutual respect, and productive diplomatic relations. The signing of these agreements serves as a testament to the strength and depth of our partnership, the achievements we have realised together, and the promising future that lies ahead.”

China does not need to wage war, it will simply repossess when grenada is not able to repay its foreign debt.

All of the loans made by china to Grenada will have to be paid back at some point. If you dont think a repossession can occur, check on Sri Lanka’s port at columbo. The govt could not pay and the chinese took a 99 year lease on port facilities.

    Open your eyes Grenadians!

China slowly taking over Grenada and other Caribbean islands and our government officials are easily tricked by they to sign papers. I am sure the signers receive gifts for giving away Grenada.
