Following a successful eye care clinic in August held at the Grenville Secondary School where 1,915 eye exams were performed, 629 persons required custom prescription glasses.
Executed in partnership with Caribbean Horizons (a division of Mc Intyre Bros Ltd) and the LL Ramdhanny Company, patients expecting glasses were able to collect their spectacles at the Deluxe Cinema in Grenville. Those who were not able to collect last week are advised that their glasses are now available for collection at the Grand Bras Health Centre.
According to Steven Stern, Founder, iCARE for Great Shape! “We have been able to reach tens of thousands of persons throughout the Caribbean with this programme, and finally reaching Grenada was an incredible honour for us. We consistently see the great need for our vision care services, especially to serve children and the elder population.”

According to the Sandals Foundation team, the impact has been remarkable. “Reaching persons who typically could not afford these services, and seeing that instant spark of confidence when they put on their glasses for the first time is priceless,” shared Deleon Forrester, Public Relations Manager, Sandals Grenada Resort.
The Sandals Foundation Great Shape! Inc.’s iCARE programme is executed in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Religious Affairs. The total value of goods and services provided to Grenada through these clinics is approximately US$837,000.
