Amicah James, founder and owner of Caribbean Midwives and Doulas, is excited to announce the expansion of the agency’s services to Grenada and the broader Caribbean region.

With over 17 years of experience providing compassionate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum support across the United States, Amicah and her dedicated team are now bringing their expertise in midwifery, doula, and counselling services to expectant and new parents throughout the Caribbean, offering personalised support at every stage of the parenting journey.

Founded by Amicah, a passionate and experienced mother, Caribbean Midwives and Doulas is a mom-owned agency committed to delivering a comprehensive range of services tailored to the unique needs of families. The agency offers expert midwifery care (including upcoming homebirth services), breastfeeding support, prenatal and postnatal care, miscarriage and postpartum counselling, nutritional guidance, and birthing and parenting classes. Each service is designed to equip families with the knowledge and support they need to experience a positive and empowering birth.

At Caribbean Midwives and Doulas, we understand that the transition to parenthood can be both joyous and challenging. That’s why our team of skilled midwives, doulas, and counsellors is dedicated to guiding families through every step of the process — from conception to the postpartum period. Whether you’re expecting twins, preparing for the birth of a preemie, or managing unique health considerations, our team offers compassionate, professional care that’s tailored to your individual needs.

Our mission is to provide a nurturing and supportive environment where both parents and babies can thrive. We believe that every birth is as unique as the family it belongs to, and our services are designed to help parents embrace the beauty and wonder of parenthood with confidence and peace of mind. From the first trimester to the early days of parenting, we are committed to helping families navigate their journey with care that fosters health, well-being, and bonding. By combining modern midwifery practices with heartfelt emotional and physical support, we strive to transform the birth experience and create lasting memories during one of life’s most significant milestones.

As part of our expansion, Caribbean Midwives and Doulas will be offering home visits to expectant and postpartum parents, ensuring that families receive personalised care in the comfort and convenience of their own homes. Additionally, we are excited to announce the establishment of a permanent clinic in Grenada, which will serve as a central hub for our services. However, our commitment to home visits remains strong, with our team available to travel across the Caribbean, ensuring that families in every location can access our comprehensive care.

In our effort to provide holistic support, we’re also dedicated to fostering community engagement in the Caribbean. This includes offering educational resources and partnering with local healthcare providers to ensure families have access to a full spectrum of care. We encourage expectant parents to get in touch to learn more about how we can make their birthing journey as positive, fulfilling, and empowering as possible.
