The Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture informs the public that due to the ongoing situation following the fire at St Andrew’s Anglican Primary School on 13 October, classes will be further suspended for the period 26 and 27 October.
Initially, classes at the school were suspended from 16 to 20 October 2023. The Ministry is working assiduously to facilitate a return to teaching and learning during the week of 30 October and will notify the public of the specific arrangements for continuity.
The ministry’s response thus far included field visits to possible relocation sites, a church service and psychosocial support sessions for students and staff on 16 October and engagements with staff and representatives from the Church Board and PTA on 17 October.
The ministry extends profound gratitude and appreciation to all stakeholders including the staff, students, parents, and members of the school community for their demonstrated patience, support, resilience, and collaboration during this transition period.
Meanwhile, an invitation to bid for the construction of the new St Andrew’s Anglican Primary School, was issued on Friday, 20 October. This will begin the process of constructing the new facility on the original school grounds on Victoria Street, Grenville.
