Enhancing and improving a number of areas on the 500-acre island of Petite Martinique are a high priority for Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, Hon Tevin Andrews.
With this in mind, work is about to commence on 2,170 feet of road in the community of Madam Pierre.
Permanent Secretary within the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government Javan Williams, along with Engineer Ricardo Anavitarte visited the island, as part of the preparatory process ahead of the commencement of work.
The roadwork is quite significant as residents have been clamouring for its construction for many years. It is part of the Petite Martinique Enhancement Project, for which the Government has budgeted a total of $500,000.
Also, improvement to the Petite Martinique seafront is being looked at, with concept drawings already done.
