The Women Officers of the Royal Grenada Police Force swapped their police caps for Santa hats to deliver Christmas hampers to needy persons and the elderly on Thursday, 20 December 2018.
The caravan of women police made its way from Police Headquarters via the St David route, delivering 12 hampers in the Eastern Division and proceeding onto the Western Division where another 14 hampers were delivered. But it was a bittersweet moment for the officers on arrival at one of their recipients who had passed away mere minutes earlier.
The hamper distribution, which is in its 13th year, brought tears of joy to the many recipients who received approximately US$100 in donated foodstuff and personal items. They were made possible through the generous donations of corporate and private citizens here in Grenada and New York.
Apart from the Christmas hampers many children were treated with goodies along the way.
Distribution for Central Division and Carriacou will be done at a future date.
The RGPF Association of Women Police is happy to give back to the community to help people in need of a smile this Holiday Season and wishes all a safe and blessed Holiday Season.
