Grenada and St Lucia emerged as joint Champions of the 2016 Windward Islands Senior Cricket Tournament after their final round match on Saturday, 4 June, ended in a draw at Progress Park, St Andrew.

Grenada captured first innings lead over St Lucia in an exciting draw on Friday to end on 15 points, the same as St Lucia.

Led by a well-constructed 105 by Captain Devon Smith, Grenada overhauled St Lucia’s score of 284 to end with 290 for 9 before the match was called off.

The match at LaSagesse, St David was abandoned on day 2, after heavy overnight and morning showers left the playing area saturated. On a reduced day one, St. Vincent & the Grenadines got to 157 for 4 with Sunil Ambris unbeaten on 57.

Points table at the conclusion of the Windward Islands Senior Tournament:

Country Points Position
Grenada 15 1st
St Lucia 15 1st
Dominica 13 3rd
St Vincent and the Grenadines 10 4th
