Guardian General Insurance (OECS) Limited (GGIOL) has once again collaborated with Grenada Co-operative Bank Limited (GCBL) and 6 other corporate partners as a Renaissance-level benefactor to raise funds toward the re-establishment of the Carlton Home under the bank’s Pump it Up! Family Fun Walk brand.
GGIOL has been involved in this initiative since 2017, and this year’s event marks the first to be hosted since 2019 due to the pandemic.
This healthy lifestyle initiative is in line with Guardian Group’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) pillar of health and wellness by supporting programmes created and focused on promoting preventative care. GGIOL is dedicated to promoting the holistic well-being of the anticipated 4,000-plus attendees for this year’s event as we aim to encourage investment in various facets of wellness, including physical, mental, emotional, and social health.
During the recent press launch at the Coyaba Beach Resort to officially kick off the 2023 Pump it Up! Family Fun Walk, Nigel Adams, Managing Director, GGIOL, expressed his delight in reaffirming the company’s partnership with Grenada Co-operative Bank to raise funds for this worthy cause. Adams reiterated that GGIOL is dedicated to supporting initiatives that encourage and promote a healthy lifestyle amongst our Caribbean people. He further stated that Guardian General applauds the ongoing efforts of the bank in identifying the Carlton Home as a key project.
Managing Director Grenada Co-operative Bank Limited Larry Lawrence reiterated, “The Management of Grenada Co-operative Bank Limited expresses sincere thanks to the Benefactors for their generous contributions and the general public for their charitable support as we journey towards the re-establishment of the Carlton Home.”
Kevin Andall, Permanent Secretary for Wellness and Religious Affairs, highlighted that this approach to health is part of the national transformation agenda, and one of the key initiatives is the commissioning of National Wellness Centres, of which the Carlton Home Project will be the first of these under the Government of Grenada’s National Wellness Programme.
As part of its commitment to the community, Guardian General will invest a further EC$15,000 toward the initiative. By 2024, GCBL and its benefactors aim to raise EC$500,000 in funds for the revitalisation of the Carlton Home, an institution dedicated to caring for and rehabilitating individuals with alcohol and substance abuse addictions.
Pump it Up! Family Fun Walk will take place in Carriacou on Sunday, 26 March and in Grenada on Sunday, 23 April 2023.
