Two organisations were the recipients of over $15,000 on 15 October 2018 at The Beacon Insurance Company Ltd office in Calliste.
The Grenada Community Development Agency (GRENCODA) was the recipient of $10,000 which will aid them in sponsoring 5 students for the first year of their secondary education. The Rotary Club of Grenada East received a cheque in the sum of $6,000 to aid them with the WASH Project.
As part of their growing CSR programme in the OECS markets, Beacon has identified 2 main areas of interest to which they would like to contribute – Community and Education. Beacon is a company that operates through traditional family values and believes that education is key to ensuring that young people are able to understand right from wrong. In so doing, stronger and more resilient communities are built. They have hosted several movie nights on the island in the St George’s area in the past, encouraging the communities to come out and share some quiet time with each other, creating a shared sense of purpose within the parishes.
It is Beacon’s hope that the selected partnerships will help to create an improved learning environment for the school children.
