The Inland Revenue Division (IRD) advises property owners that all Property Demand Notices for 2017 have been posted.
Please note that Property Tax is payable on both land and building. In this regard please note the following:
- If the owner of the building is not the owner of the land on which the building stands, the owner of the building is obligated to pay Property Tax on the building and the owner of the land is obligated to pay tax on the land.
- If the owner of the land is also the owner of the building, this owner is obligated to pay the tax on both land and building.
Property owners as described above, who have not received a Demand Notice, can contact the IRD to obtain a printed copy. In the event that the property owner has had a change of address in the last year or obtained a post box, please contact the IRD to update your records.
The IRD can also email Demand Notices to property owners if that is their preference.
Property owners are reminded to pay before 30 June to receive the 5% discount on their property tax payment. Payments can be made at the Ministry of Finance and any District Revenue Office.
