The Central Statistical Office (CSO) of the Ministry of Economic Development Planning and Cooperatives in collaboration with the World Bank under the OECS Data for Decision-Making Project will be conducting a Survey of Living Conditions (SLC) and Household Budget Survey (HBS) in Grenada commencing February 2026.
Both the SLC and HBS are conducted under the authority of the Statistics Act, No. 30 of 1960 and No. 21 of 1961.
The main objectives of the SLC-HBS 2026 are as follows:
- Measure poverty levels and living conditions in Grenada
- Collect detailed household expenditure and income data
- Generate critical social and economic indicators to inform national development and planning
The Central Statistics Office is seeking the support and cooperation of the general public to ensure the successful and efficient conduct of this survey.
The public is therefore assured that information provided to the Central Statistical Office by the population is strictly confidential and would only be disseminated at the aggregated level. The Oath of Secrecy, which will be administered to each interviewer before commencement of his/her duties, also guarantees to the public that information provided will not be disclosed. Anyone violating this oath will be prosecuted.
The public is further advised that the information collected is essential to Government’s efforts to address poverty, unemployment and inequality. These indicators are critical in analysing Grenada’s economic and social progress.
The Central Statistical Office is soliciting full support and cooperation from the public, especially the households selected for interviewing. Your positive response to completing the questionnaire accurately and to the best of your knowledge is important to the overall success of the survey.
