Sale of fertilisers to the farming community

The Ministry of Agriculture and Lands, Forestry, and Marine Resources informs the farming community and the public that the sale of fertilisers at the MNIB Packhouse, River Road, St George, began Monday, 24 June and will continue while supplies last.

Sale will commence at 8:30 am, and end at 1 pm each day.

The following fertilisers will be available:

  • NPK- 15-15-15+ 4MgO
  • NPK 12-12-17+ 2MgO
  • NPK16-4-24
  • NPK12-8-24
  • NPK 46-0-0 (Urea)

The following terms and conditions apply:

  1. Fertilisers will be available to farmers at a low cost of EC$1 per kg, or EC$25 for a 25 kg bag and E$50 for a 50 kg bag of fertiliser
  2. Farmers can only purchase a maximum of 500 kg of fertiliser (equal to five 50 kg bags or ten 25 kg bags)
  3. Farmers requesting more than 500 kg of fertiliser must have a needs assessment conducted by the Extension Division and provide a signed letter of clearance from the Chief Extension Officer
  4. Only registered and actively engaged farmers will be able to purchase fertilisers
  5. Additional fertiliser types, including calcium nitrate, magnesium nitrate, and white lime, will be available for sale during July

The sale of phosphate-based fertilisers (TSP and MAP) continues every Tuesday and Wednesday at Mirabeau Agricultural Station from 8:30 am to 12 pm.

    Where would farmers from Carriacou and Petite Martinique obtain their supplies of subsidized fertilizers? These farmers wish to be treated equally. Over to you Honorable Tevin Andrews.
