The National Water and Sewerage Authority (Nawasa) notifies the public that effective 18 June 2024, the restrictions affecting the usage of water supplied by the authority which came into force on 12 May 2024 shall cease.
In consultation with relevant stakeholders, it has been determined that the recent rainfall has adequately replenished the water catchment areas thereby alleviating the drought like conditions experienced during the month of May 2024.
Nawasa thanks the public for cooperating and complying with the restrictions which were intended to promulgate conservation and an equitable distribution of the limited resource.

Water restrictions removed on June 18. By June 20 the water is off again in the St. Paul’s area and I presume other areas as well. It seems this was an overly optimistic decision. When is NAWASA going to increase it’s storage capacity in areas that have frequent shortages? How many years of the same problem over and over before something can be done?
