A consultancy firm with its office in Canada is the latest company to be granted a marketing licence for Grenada’s Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Programme, according to a notice published in the 21 June 2024 edition of the Government Gazette.
“Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Section 13 of the Grenada Citizenship by Investment Act, 2013, Khorus Consulting Corporation, 250 Wellington St W STE 1639, Toronto, Ontario, Canada M5V 3P6, has been granted the licence of a Marketing Agent and is therefore authorised to conduct business in the State of Grenada, pursuant to the terms and conditions specified in the said Grenada Citizenship by Investment Act, 2013,” said the Notice, dated 6 May. Signed by Thomas Anthony, Chief Executive Officer, the new agent’s licence number is GCBI-MA-085.
A marketing agent according to the 2013 Grenada Citizenship by Investment Act is a person who — (a) wishes to promote, market or disseminate information locally or overseas; and (b) intends to identify suitable applicants for citizenship by investment or permanent residence by investment for submission through a Local Agent to the Committee regarding any aspect of an investment under sections 10 to 11 of the legislation.
No person shall market or promote any aspect of the Citizenship Programme with the intention of receiving suitable applicants for citizenship for submission to the Committee without being the holder of a marketing licence. Anyone who breaches this section of the law commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding EC$500,000.
The Minister for Citizenship — currently Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell — issues a marketing licence upon recommendation by the CBI Committee.
