The Investment Migration Agency (IMA) Grenada celebrates the successful hosting of the Caribbean Investment Summit 2024 (CIS24) from 22–25 May 2024, at the Radisson Grenada Beach Resort, after a 4-year hiatus.
The summit, which paused due to the Covid-19 pandemic, returned, and proved to be a pivotal moment for the investment migration industry. CIS24 served as a landmark event for the investment migration industry, bringing together key stakeholders, including Heads of Government, Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) heads, international marketing agents, service providers, real estate developers, and media representatives.
The theme for CIS24, “Resilience” emphasised the importance of fortifying the investment migration sector’s adaptability and sustainability amidst global market shifts and the scrutiny of our development partners, inclusive of the EU, UK, and USA.
Honourable Dickon Mitchell, Prime Minister of Grenada, highlighted the significance of the event: “We all know the financial contributions that the programmes have made to the respective economies in the Caribbean.” He also spoke about the additional potential that lies in the highly influential and connected CBI diaspora worldwide. “It’s absolutely important, as our investment migration industry evolves, that we tap into that diaspora to assist with the continued growth and development of our region.”
Over the years, CBI programmes have demonstrated their transformative impact on economies and communities, which the conference highlighted. The conference also acted as a catalyst for the forging of strategic partnerships among the members of the Citizenship by Investment Programme Association (CIPA). CIS24 provided an opportunity to reaffirm their collective commitment to efficiency, transparency, standardisation, and integrity within the industry. The conference provided a platform to discuss the recently signed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) among the CIU countries, underscoring the event’s role in facilitating important industry discussions.
IMA Grenada’s CEO Thomas Anthony announced that Dominica’s CIU has committed to hosting the next Caribbean Investment Summit in 2025 (CIS25). The agency looks forward to participating in the upcoming summit and future collaborations among all CIUs. More information about the agency can be found at their website, www.imagrenada.gd.
