Friday, 13 March 2020: The Ministry of Health, Grenada, wishes to reassure the general public that it is working tirelessly on the contact tracing and necessary protocols with respect to the confirmed case of Covid-19 in St Lucia, who happens to also be someone who visited Grenada from the United Kingdom between 29 February and 7 March.
Prior to this evening, and our engagement with colleagues in St Lucia, no official of the Ministry of Health was ever made aware that there was a suspected case, displaying symptoms of Covid-19, that visited Grenada during that period.
It is important to state that this individual did not request or access care while in Grenada.
From the moment the Ministry of Health was informed this evening of the developments in St Lucia, actions were immediately taken to engage in contact tracing, as per international protocols.
We have since learnt that the individual stayed at the Radisson Grenada Beach Resort.
Further investigations are ongoing, following all established protocols, but in the meantime, the Ministry is fully engaged with the management and staff of the resort, and contact tracing has begun.
As more information becomes available regarding the individual’s activities while in Grenada, the Ministry will provide the details to the public.
The Ministry understands and echoes the concerns of every Grenadian and will, therefore, continue to do everything that is necessary to follow up on this case, as we will for any that is brought to our attention, and the nation will be made aware of it.

If they didn’t do these things people would be crying foul. Now they taking steps ( in accordance with the WHO recomendation) and people still calling foul. Can’t please people
Grenada depends solely on tourism, that if hit by covid 19, God helps us all. Such rich soil and not so many people planting
It’s ridiculous people!!! Please proof read/edit before forwarding.
People let us pray for each other, our nations,,our leaders ,stop been greedy for groceries, think about others and not ourselves, we are a caribbean with enough greens ,fresh water , fresh produce, heat, we are earth people, we are grass roots dont forget this my people, covid will not survive in st.lucia grenada and the rest of the caribbean, so stop embracing fiction and move on with youll daily lives ,so let us pray
No one knows who have the Virus we just have to pray for our Nation, love and Blessing!
I have not been homeI. 27 years finally decided to take my kids to Grenada in August and that totally turned me off . My family health comes first Grenada is always there. I am praying they tackle this . The PM has a big decision to make come August because it is my biggest fear how many people will come to Grenada with this it is sad what is going on in the world I see movies like this never thought it can happen I real life
Then stay where you feel its safe, grenada dont miss you , for 27yrs long yrs , wow and you have the guts to make this comments
Exactly what has turned you of? Grenada has no confirmed cases unlike north America and Europe. So where are you most likely to contract it?
You’ll be fine .. the amount of deaths aren’t close to the amount of people recovering the media has made people panic without telling them all the facts .. there’s two types of coronavirus type A and type L where type L is the most severe one .. majority of these people are retracting type A and they are just adding up the numbers without telling us further information .. don’t let it ruin your trip in August
Do what you feel is best for yourself and your family. Grenada isn’t going anywhere, just don’t take to long to take your kids. They’re being deprived of seeing and meeting the most beautiful Islands with the most beautiful people ever! #OneLove #GrenadaCarriacouPetitMartinique
I,m beginning to wonder if that was a deliberate thing done on the part of this woman to have our islands infected too
Contact tracking is impossible right about now ,it been too long and too much mix up of people took place ,God know how much people came in contact with that person, from airport persons ,taxi man, hotels staff and everyone one and places theses people would touch or interact with ,with days of every day ruite, the best active now is to stop the movement of people in the country for at least two weeks ,and have person monitor themselves
There is no way people will believe officials in grenada was not aware of a suspected case before ,then why would charter flights for students to leave the country ,closure of schools,no visit to the elderly persons and prison ,social distancing, asking bus men to sanitizer buses etc ,all theses measures is a clear indication that vital information was uptain in order to active these measures, who are you trying to fool
Not really. This is the normal procedure for countries that allow people to visit the country. What they need to do is to ensure all nationals and visitors entering the Island to self quarantine for 14 day at home.
Good job Prime Minister! Protect pur people! I’ll continue to keep our little island, Grenada, Carrriacou and Petti Martinique in and the rest od the world in prayers.
That’s all we can do at the moment.lets jus stop trying to point fingers at each other. The PM and others are trying to do they can…in the meantime.let just pray and hope for the best for our country……
Continue to practice good hygein indoors and out doors..hand washing handwashing soap and water..
Fr atleast 20 sec….
God bless us all.
