The Meteorological Office at the Maurice Bishop International Airport informed the National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) that it is monitoring a low pressure system located about 1,500 miles east-southeast of the Windward Islands.
NaDMA will continue to monitor the situation and provide the public with updates as information becomes available.
The Agency encourages the population to continue preparedness activities into the 2024 Hurricane season, which is forecast to be hyperactive.
The following are some preparedness actions that can be taken:
- Update your family disaster plan.
- Have a Disaster supplies kit (3-day supply of non-perishable food, water, medication, flashlights, etc.)
- Trim overhanging trees and branches.
- Clear guttering and drains.
- Know where the nearest Emergency Shelters are located.
The public is also encouraged to follow the advisories and forecasts issued by the Meteorological Office and NaDMA.
