GRENADA
STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS NO. 17 OF 2024
In exercise of the powers conferred under section 4 of the Emergency Powers Act, chapter 88, the Cabinet of Grenada makes the following Regulations—

- Citation and duration. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the
EMERGENCY POWERS (HURRICANE BERYL) REGULATIONS, 2024.

- These Regulations shall come into force at 7:00 p.m. on the 30th day of June, 2024 and shall expire at 6:59 p.m. on the 7th day of July, 2024.
- Restriction on freedom of movement.—(1) From the 30th day of June, 2024 until the 2nd day of July, 2024, a curfew is imposed daily from 7:00 p.m. to 6:59 a.m., except as provided in these Regulations or as may be approved by the Commissioner of Police.
- Freedom of movement during the period specified under sub-regulation (1) shall be exercised in accordance with these Regulations.
- These Regulations shall not apply in the case of a medical emergency.
- Public Service.—(1) Subject to subregulation (2), all government offices shall remain closed during the period stated under regulation 2 except as otherwise directed by the Secretary to the Cabinet.
- Where the Secretary to the Cabinet directs that specified public officers attend work, the Government shall take reasonable steps to ensure safe transport of the public officers.
- Closure of establishment, Department of Government or businesses and exceptions.—(1) Every establishment, Department of Government or business shall remain closed except for the following—

- the Royal Grenada Police Force;
- any hospital or health care, medical, residential care establishment or facility;
- His Majesty’s Prison;
- the Department of Environmental Health Services;
- waste disposal and sanitation companies;
- the Airports Authority and the Grenada Ports Authority;
- Gas stations;
- Government Printery;
- essential officers of any public utility including water, electricity and electronic communication or any service encompassing the provision of print and electronic media,
and any other officer or category of officers as directed by the Secretary to the Cabinet.

- All essential workers shall at all times carry personal identification.
- Education and religious instruction. All religious and educational places of instruction or worship shall remain closed for the period specified under regulation 2.
- Penalty. A person who contravenes or fails to comply with these Regulations shall be guilty of an offence and, on summary conviction, liable to a fine of five hundred dollars and to imprisonment for six months and to forfeiture of any goods or money in respect of which the offence has been committed.
- Guidelines. The Commissioner of Police may, on the direction of the Cabinet of Grenada, issue guidelines to provide for further clarification on these Regulations.
