Suitably qualified professionals are invited to apply for the position of Finance Specialist at the Grenada Investment Development Corporation (GIDC).
Job Summary:
The Finance Specialist will provide assistance to the Shared Services Business Unit within the Finance sub-unit to support the work of all Strategic Business Units (SBUs) and ensure the efficient use and appropriate allocation of the Corporation’s financial resources in addition to reporting on financial activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform functions in the accounting software including but not limited to
- Posting bills, cheques, and receipts
- Preparing invoices
- Reviewing postings of cash receipts
- Preparing budget entries
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts to include the following

- Post monthly entries
- Reconcile accounts
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Generate payable and other reports as required
- Prepare Cash Flow statement
- Reconcile supplier invoices with purchase orders and supplier statements with payable ledger, resolve discrepancies and prepare cheque payment vouchers
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in performing Accounting functions and preparing financial reports. Knowledge of Accounting principles, accuracy of posting transactions and reconciling bank accounts and other ledgers
- Education: Applied Skills Level in ACCA or bachelor’s degree in Accounts or Finance from a recognised university
- Technology: QuickBooks would be an advantage. Competence in a range of software including MS Office
- Competencies: Accounting principles and practices, financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting and monitoring, reconciliation, confidentiality, interpersonal skills; emotional intelligence; customer service skills
