- Grenada is constitutionally due for general elections in 2027
- 87,566 registered voters at June 2022 General Elections
- 1,273 citizens registered to vote during first quarter of 2024
During the first quarter of 2024, a total of 1,273 citizens registered to vote in the 15 constituencies, bringing the consolidated list of voters to 91,145 voters. At the time of the June 2022 General Elections, there were 87,566 registered voters.
This means that in 22 months following that election there are 3,579 new registered voters. The estimated population count in Grenada according to data from the World Bank is 125,438. Data from the 2022 census is yet to be released as public information.
The addendum list for the first quarter of 2024 is scheduled to be released for public scrutiny from 23 April. A notice in the 19 April Government Gazette said, “There shall be a seven (7) day period for claims and objections regarding the Addendum from the 23rd to 30th April, 2024. The List can be found in each Parliamentary Elections Constituency Office and at the Post Offices, Police Stations, Medical Stations and other public places.”
“Request for alterations or corrections of any error in the name, address or polling division of any registered person should be submitted to the Registration Officer of the Constituency on or before the 30th April, 2024,” said the notice, signed by Elvis Morain, Supervisor of Election.
“Everyone and particularly those who registered during the quarter January–March 2024, is advised to inspect the List to ensure that his or her name is properly included. The List should be checked to establish whether there is any name included in it that should not be there,” said the notice.
Grenada is constitutionally due for a general election in 2027.
