In an effort to make it easier for road users traversing the various communities, new street and traffic signs are being erected on Carriacou.
The signs are being erected in the town of Hillsborough and surrounding areas, with financial assistance from businessman Kimberlain Mills.
Mills, who owns Kim’s Plaza and Guesthouse, has contributed over $40,000 to the project. He said another community, his home village of Mt Pleasant/Grand Bay, will soon benefit from the street and traffic sign project.
Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government Hon. Tevin Andrews said this is the type of partnership they would like to see as Government works on its transformation agenda. The project will also involve the renaming of streets in Hillsborough with the names of prominent Kayaks.
Meanwhile, street signs will be erected in the southern side of the island, compliments Paradise Beach Club.

Well Done Mr Mills long overdue! This is a very good move on the part of local businessman and will help greatly when visitors are in Carriacou on foot or driving around.
We’re going Up, up, up, up up…!
Many Thanks Kim. We appreciate it. We remember 15 years ago we kam to Carriacou for the first time and meet you each year at your shop and the radio station with Allan.
Unfortunately we are now too old to travel to Carriacou with all transfers and securities…
Again many thanks for your help also for the “needy children”.
Sincerely yours
