A Construction Company is seeking suitable applicants to fill the following positions:
1.   Project Manager
This role is responsible for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control and closing of all construction projects. The Project Manager will also oversee the preparation and submission of bids for both public and private tenders.
Core responsibilities include:
- Planning and supervising all construction projects
- Managing and overseeing resource allocation to individual projects
- Negotiating and administering contracts
- Preparation and tracking of project budgets
- Preparing valuations for interim payments
- Implementing quality control measures
- Implementing and enforcing health and safety protocols
- Maintaining positive client relationships
- Stakeholder management and effective communication of project goals to all parties involved
- Leadership of project teams to ensure satisfactory project completion
The successful candidate will possess the following at minimum:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or a related field
- 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Knowledge or experience in quantity surveying and/or public procurement will be an asset
- Proficiency in the use of Google Workspace apps and Microsoft Office programs, including MS Project
- A deep understanding of the local construction industry
- Excellent communication skills
- A valid driver’s licence
2.   Estimator/Junior Quantity Surveyor
The Estimator/Junior Quantity Surveyor will assist the Project Manager to ensure that projects are accurately planned and delivered within budget, prepare accurate quantity take-offs and submit timely cost estimates for new construction or refurbishment tenders, as well as cost variations to ongoing projects.
To be successful in this position, you must:
- Be able to read construction drawings and quantify materials
- Be familiar with the format and preparation of a Bill of Quantities
- Be willing and able to learn quickly
- Be able to meet demanding deadlines
- Be detail-oriented
- Be a team player
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possess the following:
- Associate’s Degree in Building Construction Technology or a related field
- At least one year of experience in a similar role
- Exceptional quantitative skills.
The following will be a bonus:
- Have the ability to inspect trends in construction to determine whether your estimates are both reasonable and competitive
- A valid driver’s licence
- A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field
3.   Secretary
The Secretary will be responsible for assisting with general personnel, secretarial and administrative matters. To be successful in this position, you must:
- Exhibit a high sense of professionalism and excellent customer service skills
- Have the ability to multi-task
- Have time management
- Be knowledgeable in QuickBooks
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be a team player
- Maintain a strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Have the ability to organise and prioritise
- Maintain confidential information, file and store them accordingly
- Possess the following:
- Certificate or Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science
- At least one year of experience in a similar role
- Experience in data processing, and bookkeeping.
