Supporting the education of the islands’ children in their education journey as they prepare to go back to school is Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government Hon. Tevin Andrews.
Minister Andrews who was assisted by Staff from the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government and Parliamentary Office, distributed over 100 school bags and supplies to children in Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
At the distribution ceremony held at the Carriacou Multipurpose Centre, he noted that his government is serious about the education of its citizens, showcasing this through the removal of tuition fees for the T A Marryshow Community College (TAMCC) and New Life Organisation (NEWLO), and the removal of registration fees for primary and secondary schools.
He added that it is important that Government continues to play a critical role in the education sector and encouraged the students and their parents to take their education seriously as it would help them later in life.
A similar exercise was held in Petite Martinique.
