The gift of 5 brand new laptops to the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government by the Chinese Embassy has been described as timely by Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, Hon. Tevin Andrews.
It comes as the Ministry works on improving its service delivery to the people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
The delivery of the computers was made when Minister Andrews met with Chinese Ambassador Wei Hongtian, who paid a brief visit to Carriacou recently. The Chinese Embassy also donated a number of items to the Top Hill Senior Citizens Home, the lone senior citizens’ institution on Carriacou.
Minister Andrews, while thanking the Ambassador for China’s contributions to the development of Carriacou and Petite Martinique over the years, said he looks forward to the deepening of bilateral relations between the Governments of China and Grenada.
Carriacou is the site of 2 Chinese-funded projects: a housing scheme in Dumfries and the Tyrrel Bay Port.

Go read up.on the facts of what China’s FINANCIAL COLONIALISATION has done to the Seychelles and Africa. They have their claws well into Grenada. Speak to the students about the abuse and racism they are subjected to as scholarship winners to China. Wake up. China like a serpent in the coconut tree will bite you before you see it.
Looks like we got ourselves a new colonial master. Pity we can’t understand what he says…
China should have nothing to do with a country’ ports. Its s slippery slope. Dont think you will mot loose control of your port eventually. The Chineese will not invest in your port if they did not think it will be theirs in the long run. They will get their foot in and wait and wait and wait untill the right currupt politcian come along to sign on the dotted line. We are in their warming up stage. We do not need more housing than the country can support. Providing housing on a small island will be a desaster. All peoples owning a home should have some land attached to grow crops. If you stack people on top of people you will create a welfare situation and dis-enchanted people with empty bellys become criminals. Wair sn see.
Thanks for reading Mister Prime Minister
We do not take a computer from a country interested in spying. The best thing for Tevin to do now is sell the computer to the locals and buy Computers “On the Open Market”, free we hope of planted spying software..I think we have a better odds on the open market. Using these Computers for Governmental and purpuses will be foolish.. China will be able to analize all that is going on with us and all that is importsnt to us. They will use this knowledge in negotiating with us. IF they really wanted to give us computers, they would donate the money air marked to buy Computers On The Open Market. Watch if you not using the computers they will call and ask “why are you not using the computers”. Dont be a sellout for a few computers. DO NOT PUT YOUR VITAL INFORMATION OF MANAGING OUR COUNTRY ON THESE “SPY COMPUTERS”. Please be wise to China’s moves. They are not interested in free people. They spy on all their citizens to maintain the Communisim. They want us to vote for their Communistlc views at the UN. Their aim is to control the resources of week nations with bribes to the leaders (spying computers). They will not be able to controll the world without spying. We are a Democracy. Our job is to be self surficient. We must Quantify all our resources and benefit from them at the highest degree. Never sell outright your base resourses. Always try to market the residual resourses. For instance dont sell the river. Sell the excess water that comes from the river..Thanks for reading this Mister Prime Minister.
LOL….But I totally agree with you.
Grenada needs to have a nationalistic approach. Time to put Grenadians first in everything we do…
Kick the Chinese out ASAP..
Lmao
Hello,
Please observe that throughout the world, the mainland chinese communist government ingratiates itself to struggling nations with promises of infrastructure projects, ie the maurice bishop airport and the la sagesse community housing. The la sagesse housing project had no sewerage plant included by the chinese and now dumps raw untreated waste into local river! No cabinets or cupboards included and sits in direct sun which will make living there challenging!
Please realize that they are attempting to scoop up and eventually own key aspects of grenada economy.
The mainland chinese are not true friends of the Grenadian people and will extract a price for this generosity!
Beware of the Chinese Communist Party – watch what is happening in China – cheap laptops are being used to briber Grenadian officials . Grenada could become an offshore Chinese enclave !!!!! Wake UP Grenada !!!
Chinese should be given 72 hour to close shop. Reconnect relationship with Taiwan.
Cutting relationship with the world second largest economy and turn to a region that even has no sovereignty in international law??? How obtuse could one be to talk like this? Or you are simply an underlin of the Taiwan spy. No more lies!
Russ please re read the news coming out of China – NOT a place to support where the citizens are treated as state property
U.S can be given 72 hrs to close shop just the same. Grenada is sovereign state and should not be bound by simplistic ideals. Size of a country economy has nothing to do with taking a stand…or having a nationalistic view.
What exactly does a relationship with second economy do for the Grenadian people?
China or no other countries wait for Grenada’s approval to do anything.
For some It is easy follower than to lead. No wonder Grenada is in this state.
You must be Chineese stooge with the clout to influence another country policies.
