- Covid-19 is everywhere on island especially in closeknit communities
7 Grenadians have died from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours — 5 at the General Hospital in St George’s, 1 at the Princess Alice Hospital, and another in a community. This brings the total Covid-19 related deaths to 12.
Health Minister Nickolas Steele disclosed on Monday morning during a television programme that the General Hospital had recorded 4 deaths because he was not yet updated on the latest numbers.
Without sharing detailed information about the deaths, health officials confirmed they were between 26 and 85 years of age, including 4 females, and none of the deceased were vaccinated.
In the interview, Steele said that at this point Covid-19 is everywhere on the island especially in closeknit communities. “Deaths and positive cases are doubling exponentially,” said Steele. “It is everywhere, in every community in Grenada.”
Among those who have contracted the virus is a healthcare worker, whom Steele described as a case of “concern.”
“Healthcare workers have been affected; police have been affected,” said Steele, who urged vaccination and the following of protocols as measures to effectively combat the coronavirus. It was recently announced that 82 police officers tested positive for the virus.
The Minister said that one of the younger cases is a child that is less than one-year-old baby while another recent case is a grandmother who did not leave the house. “In some cases, they (the elderly) are shut-ins who never left their home, it’s coming and meet them at home,” he said. An increasing number of younger adults are tested positive for the virus.
“The threat has never been greater,” he said while disclosing that an entire floor at the general hospital is being set up as an intensive care unit dedicated to treating Covid-19 patients. The Ministry had already set up a unit containing no more than 20 beds, metres away from the General Hospital compound.
Within the past week, Grenada moved from having dozens of Covid-19 active cases to over 1,000 cases. The Ministry of Health is currently engaging in massive rapid and PCR testing at makeshift mobile sites at different locations throughout the island.
As of Monday, 6 September over 20 individuals were hospitalised, and between 17 August and 3 September, approximately 25 individuals were declared medically recovered.
Call on the name of the Lord God and ask him to help us , not the vaccine. Only the Lord God of heaven can
With season coming for visitors if the island is shut down again the economy will collapse. Don not think it cannot happen…
Too many idiots in Grenada claiming to have done research when they can’t even spell the word. Now they’re paying for their ignorance
Condolences to all the family and friends of those who’ve lost their battles with COVID. Please let’s do everything we can to prevent further tragedies.
Dear people of Grenada, it is not a vaccine we must put our trust in. We as a nation must get down on our faces before God and ask for his mercy. We have put him aside for every thing else. Repent Grenada and God will shine his light ius. Amen
You can do both. Pray, and get vaccinated. Didn’t god create the doctors and the vaccine that help reduce the risk of you having serious illness and dying? What will god say if you show up at his door asking why he didn’t save you? Probably something like, “I sent you a very effective vaccine! What more do you want from me?!”
The Devil is working his magic in the braindead minds of Anti Vacciners, God sent the Vaccine to save lives, nobody needs to Die, just take the bloody Vaccine if not for you, then for your elderly ones and your community. Because when you get Covid for being Harden, you could infect and kill a health care worker tying to save your harden skin and if we loose a health care worker who could have gone on to save more lives, the blood of them all is ON YOUR SELFISH HANDS. THINK ABOUT THAT!!! STOP YOUR RUBBISH AND GET VACCINATED AT ONCE! GO ON!!!
Roslyn PauI well said.
Please understand Covid vaccine and wearing a mask are critical in controlling this virus. Also understand we have the vaccine through God’s marvelous grace. It is not possible to love our neighbor, as we are instructed to do, and refuse to be vaccinated.
People please I beg on the the behalf of me and my family get vaccinated this covid is no joke and it’s deadly people don’t even know if they have it and going home to their family’s and it’s so sad
Even if you are vaccinated you can still test positive for the virus and spead it to others I have see it because my boyfriend is vaccinated and he is still Positive
And? Yes, if vaccinated, you can still contract and spread the virus, but you’re MUCH LESS likely to contract serious illness and die, consuming valuable and scarce medical resources that could be put to better use than treating people who were too ignorant or stubborn to get vaccinated.
In the US, it’s the unvaccinated that are dying, not the vaccinated. The vaccine gives you a very great chance of survival should you get infected. Here, we are experiencing the “pandemic of the unvaccinated”. Please learn from us, our mistakes and don’t repeat them. Due to Covid, we’ve lost several times the population of the entire island of Grenada. By God’s grace, He’s given the scientific wisdom for the vaccine. Thank Him. Trust Him. Get vaccinated. Praying for you.
And people are still saying it is a hoax & these seven died because of taking the Covid vaccine. These people are sick minded.
Please. Get. Vaccinated!! None of us vaxxed people are saying this for our sake — we are saying it for yours
Amen
What if yours didn’t want to get vaccinated for yours sake? What then will the vaccinated like yourself do or say?
If you’re vaccinated you are safe? Why worry about the unvaccinated? Vaccinated persons can still contract and spread the virus. Not everyone that contracts Covid gets sick and dies.
Ignorance is not bliss. No one has ever said that the vaccine is 100%. Vaccine is not new to the human race. Most parts of the world you can’t start kindergarten without your immunization record current. It’s mind boggling when folks make comments that the vaccine wasn’t researched long enough. I remember waiting for a cable to inform me of my father’s death in Grenada, I was in Canada at the time. Today I can stay any part of the world and talk to and actually see a person breathing their last breath.in another part of the world.
God is great and is able to heal, just remember Jesus spat on mud to make a blind man see. Naamam dipped 7 times in the river Jordan to get healed.
Don’t take the vaccine but please sign a waiver DNH. Do not hospitalize should you get the Covid. Do Not Put the over taxed healthcare systems and workers at risk.
