NO, Karma Karma. Vaccinated people don’t think they are superior, what a stupid thing to say. If you’re vaccinated you stand a far better chance of not being SERIOUSLY ill or dying of covid. That’s it. Don’t take the shot & wish you had when you get covid. I had a friend in the UK die of it in 3 days of being confirmed he had it. That was before we had the vaccine. Up to you if you want to take the risk of dying from covid BUT remember if you have it you’ll easily pass it to your friends, family, neighbours, anyone. All of those could meet the same fate as my friend. Just get the shot, if not for you then for others.
Sounds as though you, like many others are accustom doing what a man in a white jacket tells you.
It sounds as though once something is stamped with fda approval, it’s all systems go.
Sorry to burst your bubble but fda approved just means it’s benefits outweighs the risks.
With the Covid 19 vaccination, it has not been in circulation for long enough to determine what the longer term health implications it could have on individuals. If they found a Covid 19 cure for example, people would be more willing to take that chance and take it, but to take a vaccine in which you can still get, spread and die even though maybe slightly less likely than someone who has not had it, makes no sense to the majority of people hence the hesitance/resistance to get it.
I unfortunately know a few people who have got sick with and who have died from Covid 19.
If they created a vaccine that would stop you from getting the virus and/or stop you from spreading the virus and stop you from dying from the virus with certainty, people would be more likely to take it. There is so much uncertainty around these vaccines that people are simply not willing to take the risk.
You will find that UK hospitals still do receive people who have been vaccinated and they still die.
Who’s to say that the vaccination does not cause infertility. That in the next few years, the female 80% of the
population are infertile and therefore there is a drastic decrease in the size of population worldwide because woman are no longer child bearing. Then how would people respond? The same goes for male sperm count. What in the vaccine causes low sperm count or makes men sterile. That too would cause a dying population. These are just examples of what could be unknown side effects of a new drug.
Ignorance, fear and desperation are causing people to react and make uninformed decisions or to conform to the masses.
Who’s to say that having enough vitamin and minerals boosting a fantastic immune system will not act the same or even better than this vaccine. Why is natural not a consideration after all, 70% of pharmaceuticals comes from natural products, so why then can’t we trust Mother Nature in regards to COVID-19.
The cases we have now are as a result of vaccinated persons coming into contact with locals who were non vaccinated. I wonder if everyone gets vaccinated and covid still floats around on island then what will be said? The vaccine cannot save you. It is believed to help reduce symptoms but that doesn’t mean you still can’t get covid and die. Lives do not rest in a vaccine but in God. You don’t know when your number will be up. When he calls it, your 3 covid jabs won’t save you from said covid…. if that’s how he say you’re going then so you will go! Everyone has their choice. No one forced you to take the vaccine. You made it off of your free will so everyone should have that same privilege to decide.
Nice to see comments are starting to become more positive towards the benefits of vaccination.
Perhaps the most vaccine cautious group, PhDs, have given up. The old adage about not wrestling with a pig seems to apply here.
Nope, we the non conformists are going about our days lives and leaving the vaccinated to continue to stress themselves and spend all their energies trying to convince everyone else that they are somehow superior to everyone else.
If you’ve had your shot and you are protected from COVID then go on about your life in peace.
I guess I must be one of those persons who believe in one of our many Gods or our quack medicine, isn’t that right mr Anthony Slaine?
Killing the SARS-CoV-2 virus through vaccination is the only way to stop COVID-19. One of the knottiest problems in psychology and sociology is how to change people’s beliefs and opinions. Vaccine resistance reveals the deeply conservative and rural bent of the Grenadian consciousness. It is rooted in so
much misinformation, fake news, deliberate lies, distrust and skepticism of science, learning, and education, corrupt political agendas, irrational fears, and overweening ego that it’s well nigh ineradicable. I think government and health professionals, facing this potentially disruptive opposition, have just given up: let rising hospitalizations and deaths teach you; you know where you can get vaccinated; you know how to wear a mask. I know I’m done: I have a sore throat from screaming last night at friends to at least listen to reason (actually, the sore throat is a late effect of the vaccination I got in March; but as usual, I’m lying to you and myself)
Educating people on how to protect themselves and others is paramount. Testing people with symptoms is very important to stop the spread. I have a cousin who had symptoms and she was told she cannot go to see her doctor but they are calling her everyday to see how she doing. Let’s not forget she has kids, and she lives close to her brothers and their families. Hmmm
Unfortunately it’s a bit too late for many who are already infected but don’t know it yet. There HAS to be more vaccine uptake before Grenada has to lock down again like last April. The government has to shut the island down again until people see sense and get vaccinated. Such a shame after 16 months of effective control of the situation.
Cases doubling every few days, as I predicted. Are Grenadians going to take this seriously now & get vaccinated?
Not until they start seeing deaths, will they take it seriously.
