The Ministry of Health announces that 4 new positive Covid-19 cases were confirmed overnight, bringing the total number of active cases to 44.

Thirty-nine of those cases are related to the new cluster confirmed on 12 December.

The following is a breakdown of the current epidemiological situation of Covid-19 in Grenada:

  • 5 of the 44 active cases are not connected to the cluster. They are imported cases and are in quarantine.
  • As of today, Tuesday, 15 December, 529 locals have been tested in relation to the cluster, which has yielded 30 total positive results. This number includes employees, affiliated workers and their contacts.
  • 11 guests were tested at the cluster facility. 9 were confirmed positive.
  • 222 further contacts are identified for testing in the coming hours and days, and that number is expected to increase as the investigations continue.

All cases and their known contacts to date, have been ordered to quarantine for a period of 14 days, as per the epidemiology of the disease. All quarantined homes and facilities are being monitored for compliance.

The Chief Medical Officer has also directed that all individuals tested as part of this cluster, regardless of their current tests results, remain in quarantine for 14 days or until medical clearance is received from health officials. No one is allowed to visit anyone who is in quarantine.

The Chief Medical Officer reminds that the incubation period of the virus varies for each individual, therefore, a negative test result today can change to a positive result tomorrow, for anyone exposed to the virus.

Covid-19 is active in our communities and we must take every precaution to protect ourselves and our loved ones from potential exposure and contraction of the disease.

The public is reminded that in an effort to curb this outbreak, everyone must wear masks over the nose and mouth when in public spaces; wash or sanitise hands frequently; practice physical distancing of at least 6 feet from others; and adhere to the quarantine rules and the restrictions for social gatherings.

If you believe that you have been exposed to the virus, or you are displaying symptoms consistent with those of the Coronavirus, isolate yourself immediately, and contact the Covid Hotline at 473 538 4787, or your nearest health centre.

Ggeorgegeorge I have to agree with you! I’m not saying that governments are perfect at all but it is really dangerous to spread suspicion and fear and rumours based on very little actual evidence. It has created a lot of confusion in the world about covid-19. And so we see people behaving recklessly, not wearing masks, not distancing, Etc. And spreading more illness as a result. I would say that it’s better to be on the safe side and unless you are absolutely sure about your facts, I don’t think it’s wise to spread suspicious hunches.

I have heard from a person with symptoms in Grenada. She called the medics and they said they would ring her back, and she should isolate within a crowded family home. Does not sound good to me !

So if this has not spread into the community, what is the Government going to do to prevent this happening again?

The double standards repeatedly displayed by government is responsible for this current outbreak and spread of Covid19. In my opinion there is either some compromise with the management of the hotel facility: “money for free pass” or “deliberate, deceitful spread of the virus”. It is my view that the government is seeking to create a way to justify bringing in the vaccine along with related money to pay for it. This with other current government policies are designed to impoverish the country and bring its citizens under foreign control and domination. The ultimately wilful plan is to make us into Genetically Modified Human Organisms (GMHO) with the Covid vaccine which is one hidden objective of the 2030 millennium goal.

Oh man, you must be reading some crazy stuff. Listen, maybe better for you to stop and maybe think it through. But what if you’re right and little Grenada is a CIA plot and experimental station for the eventual world domination? But then you’d have to stop and ask yourself, why would anyone want to dominate the worlds people?
