A Grenadian national who was in close contact with Cases 31 and 32 is Grenada’s latest laboratory diagnosed case of Covid-19. This brings Grenada’s total positive cases to 33, of which 4 are active, remaining in isolation.
Case 33 is in her 60s and resides in South St George. So far she has had no symptoms of the virus, and has been quarantined with her entire household since late last Saturday.
All 40 known contacts of Cases 31 and 32 are still in quarantine. They all received a first test on Friday, 13 November, and will undergo a repeat test on Thursday, 19 November, as per the science of the disease.
The Ministry of Health acknowledges the owners of the compliant restaurants that provided the necessary information to help identify potentially exposed individuals. In the case of the restaurant that did not keep a log of customers as required by the Ministry, that restaurant remains closed until the requisite safety standards and procedures are implemented.
The Ministry, through its officials and health wardens, continues its systematic review of all facilities offering services to the public, and will mandate the closure of establishments that are noncompliant or do not meet the required safety standards.
Owners and employees are urged to cooperate with the health team, including the wardens, as their only duty and interest is to keep Grenada safe. They are a critical link in this defence partnership.
As stated repeatedly, the public’s role in safeguarding Grenada against an outbreak of Covid-19 is crucial. Citizens and visitors alike are required to comply with the rules of the state, look out for each other, and hold each other accountable in practising safety measures.
Anyone who evades or attempts to evade the mandatory protocols for border entry, quarantine, and mask-wearing in public, will be subject to prosecution under the laws of Grenada.
The Ministry reminds citizens and visitors to continue to exercise good judgement, honesty, and good citizenship so as to mitigate against any violations of the health rules. Public establishments that flout the safety measures should not be patronized — in fact, they should be reported, as they too, play a key role in this partnership.
Public health and safety are our collective responsibility, and should not be compromised.
Always practice physical distancing and proper hygiene. Wear a mask or face covering over the nose and mouth when in public spaces, and hold each other accountable for the same.

Any information about those two criminals who went about grenada like they own the place..I guess they have friends in high places and may have already left our poor country. Don’t trust this government with your life.
Putting fingers into the dyke: how many more holes can they plug? It’s just a matter of time now…. Urrrh!
On buses to and from Gouyave to town today – hardly anyone with a mask….. no police monitoring at bus station. Bus driver in town made sure we all sanitized hands but not so stringent with masks. Once the borders open properly we are screwed unless people get it that you wear masks and sanitize to protect YOURSELVES. We all have to behave like we have it and don’t want to transmit it.
Well done MOH. I hope that restaurant is fined the maximum and not allowed to reopen until it’s paid. And then checked regularly to see it’s conforming and keeping a proper log of customers. And I hope it will be named and shamed with wide publicity. What does is take for people to realise this is serious?
How much emphasis is being placed on persecuting those two persons who broke protocol to visit 4 different reataurants. Their irresponsibility placed our society at risk and they should face maximum penalty for doing so. The white man is not above the law
Don’t care if you are an alien with purple skin. Protocols apply to everyone. Also educate yourself. The original cases of covid 19 came to Grenada with nationals, locals NOT Tourists or white people, the disease doesn’t care about colour or religion or anything else. Fine and prosecute no matter where the violators come from or what their job is. Anyone who behaved like this and us a doctor should be fined twice as much and deported as soon as they can be with an embargo to not return to Grenada for five years.D
