A motorcycle rider is in police custody assisting with investigations into an incident in which an officer on duty was knocked over at Bathway Beach, St Patrick, on Sunday, 12 July 2020.
The female officer sustained numerous bodily injuries after being thrown in the air and landing about 6 feet from where she was executing her duties. She is currently on medical sick leave.
The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) reminds persons that mass informal gathering as was on display at Bathway Beach at the weekend is illegal, as per Covid-19 Regulations. Persons who have plans of engaging in these informal activities are encouraged to cease and desist from doing so.
Persons are also reminded that the Covid-19 Regulations in respect of mandatory wearing of masks, and physical distancing are still in effect.
Amplified music in private motor vehicles must be played consistent to with that of the Noise Control Act.

Tell me if the police knew that such gathering was illegal..why did they allow it to happen and why they took so long to take action which was spurred on by the incident with one of their officer getting hurt .
Now here we have two different views on what is wrong and what is right when the establishment is falling down
Grenada is supposed to be a peace loving island with strict laws which we all have to abide by
So why are we even discussing the wrongs and right about the current state of emergency which is currently in operation.
Therefore I would suggest we look up the meaning of the word or phrase “state of emergency ” and try and live by it.
I still dont understand what you Mr. Big Man trying to prove in your uniform & Jacket & tie .It was said that here in Grenada we dont have any Covid 19 Cases ,Grenada is on the move to open up it’s boarders too outside traffic of humans whom you dont know whats their situation but our local people still under your BONDAGE with your Regulations & Restrictions ? Why do you feel it’s ok to let outsiders come into this Country which does not have any COVID 19 But you wanna arrest & Charge our people here for trying too release some stress with music …I Just dont understand you people …Going on the media SAYING NOTHING every couple days trying too give people the impression you’re doing something when is further from the truth, go back and listen to all of your meetings they are not much different from each other . THERE IS NO COVID 19 IN GRENADA , GIVE GRENADIANS AH BREAK.
This has been going on for 3-4 weeks now. Police have been called in Sauteurs but nothing was ever done. They just ignore our calls. Last night was worse than the other weeks but it was still bad.
It takes one of their own to get hurt for them to take notice. I pray the officer will be ok.
Sauteurs Police need to stop this every week and not just now that it’s in the news. They aren’t allowed in grand Anse beaches like this so they all come up from town. Police our beach like town and the incident yesterday would never had happened.
