The Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Hon. Dr Clarice Modeste-Curwen and the Chairman, Board of Directors, Management and Staff of the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) are deeply saddened by the passing of Andre Cherman (OBE) who served as Managing Director of the Coyaba Beach Resort for 32 years.
The stalwart in the tourism industry was also a shareholder and Chairman of the Board at Coyaba. Under his capable leadership, Coyaba has become one of Grenada’s best-known beach resorts.
Cherman was jovial, charismatic and committed to the development of the Tourism industry through service excellence. He served as Chairman of the Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association and on various committees. He also served for a brief period as Chairman of the Grenada Board of Tourism. In 2017, the Minister and GTA were happy to celebrate 30 years of Coyaba’s operation and service excellence with Cherman as part of British Airways 30 years of flying to the destination.
The GTA extends condolences to his wife, daughters and other family members during this difficult time. His smile, personality and commitment will surely be missed. May his soul rest in peace.

I too was deeply saddened on hearing of the passing ofAndre Cherman..He was a friend for well over 50 years.
The last time I was having dinner at his hotel was for the celebration of my wedding anniversary. He assigned one of his staff to my service and to wait on me attend to my needs to carry my plait to get my buffet and fetch my drinks. He went out of his way and provided me an anniversary cake large enough to share with the eight persons at my table. I have lost a friend indeed. He will be greatly missed
My condolences goes out to his wife and family
I will like to express my sincere condolences to the Cherman Family on the passing of their loved one, Andre. We both attended the same Primary School, and from back in those he always he had that decent personality and smile. He will now join his loving parents, Franklyn and Joy, and his brother, Richie. May Andre Rest In Eternal Peace, as he sleeps forever.
