The National Ozone Unit (NOU) in the Ministry of Climate Resilience, the Environment, and Renewable Energy, will host a Capacity Development Training for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) retailors, procurement officers for electrical appliances, and facility energy managers, under the Cool Contributions Fighting Climate Change Project, Phase II (C4 II).
The training, which is part of the ministry’s commitment to ozone and climate protection, will take place at the VIP Lounge Kirani James Athletic Stadium, St George’s, Grenada, on Wednesday, 27 March 2024, from 9 am to 12 pm.
It will provide valuable insight into understanding the energy performance of refrigerators, air conditioners, and other small electrical appliances, as well as the properties and benefits of natural refrigerants, while also offering a comprehensive overview of standards established for the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) sector.
Participants will gain the ability to calculate energy efficiency, energy cost, energy consumption, and savings from the afore-mentioned electrical appliances. They will also recognise the importance of ozone layer protection and the advantages of Green Cooling.
Additionally, participants will be better equipped to advise potential end users on energy efficiency and cost issues, as well as explain the concept of green cooling and evaluate and explain the energy labels on appliances.
