Grenadian born Yvette Michelle La Crette is a devout chef whose secret ingredient (now revealed) is passion. She acquired her cooking skills from her grandmother, a well sought out cook in Grenada, then polished these at the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) in New York.
Her ‘Grenadian hand’ has been favoured by celebrities. Yvette is the personal chef to supermodel Naomi Campbell, and has left stars like Beyonce, Jay-Z, Mick Jagger, and Lenny Kravitz satisfied with her magical treats. She has catered parties for media personality Wendy Williams and for Ocean Style Magazine TV. Yvette has represented Grenada in numerous international events and is now the Go-To Chef of most Caricom countries for United Nations events.
Today Chef Yvette was featured at the Rum & Rhythm Benefit & Auction which is part of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation’s Celebrity Chef Programme for Caribbean Week New York.  The Celebrity Chef Programme showcases professional, purpose-driven chefs from the Caribbean through culinary classes and demonstrations.
Bloomingdales Department Store on 59 Street will be filled with the aroma of spice on Saturday, 7 June, at1:00pm, as Chef Yvette whips up her delicacies. Chef Yvette will utilise Grenadian produce to assist her in tantalising visitors to the Grenadian booth at Bloomingdales.
The Grenadian team in New York, fully supports Yvette. They eagerly anticipate the distribution of her recipe book which gives juicy details of popular Grenadian dishes.
