As the excitement builds for Grenada’s hosting of the CONCACAF U17 Women’s Championship to be held 3 to13 March, citizens will get to see our Spice Princesses in action before the big day.
The Grenada Football Association has organized 2 international friendlies with US Soccer Team Weston FC, in further preparation of the U17 National Women’s Team. Weston FC is a nonprofit US Soccer Federation certified Youth Club based in Florida, with players ranging in age from 7 to 19.
The first match is scheduled for Friday, 19 February at 7 pm at the National Football and Athletic Stadium. Then on Sunday, 21 February, Team Grenada and Weston will clash again, this time from 6 pm. These friendlies will assist the technical staff in making objective decisions when selecting the final team.
US Soccer Coach Heather Dyche is also in Grenada. Coach Dyche, who facilitated tactical and other sessions late last year with the U17 team, is back to further assist in preparing the girls for the friendlies and the upcoming tournament.
The GFA has priced tickets at $5, to allow the entire family to come out and support. The Association is appealing to the public to come out in their numbers to cheer on our girls.
