As part of its work under the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative (CBSI), the US Embassy to Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean, and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) handed over a 2016 Toyota Fortuner to the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) on 23 September. The handover took place at Police Headquarters in St George’s, Grenada.
The handover of the vehicle not only underscored the US Embassy’s commitment to assist Grenadian law enforcement in protecting the country’s citizens, US citizens, and visitors to the island, but was also part of a continued partnership between the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, and the RGPF to train, equip, and assist RGPF officers in positive community-oriented policing.
DEA Country Attaché Timothy Williams commented, “We are always happy to work with our partners in law enforcements in the countries to which the US Embassy is accredited. This vehicle provides a much-needed piece of equipment to the Grenada law enforcement.
