The Grenada National Commission for UNESCO is pleased to inform that UNESCO launched the 2026 17th Call for Funding Requests to the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD).

The fund was established by the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. It invests in projects in developing countries that lead to structural change, through the introduction and/or elaboration of policies and strategies that have a direct effect on the creation, production, distribution of and access to a diversity of cultural expressions, as well as through the reinforcement of the structures deemed necessary to support viable local and regional cultural industries and markets.

Projects supported by the International Fund for Cultural Diversity cover a wide range of activities from the development and implementation of cultural policies, capacity-building for cultural professionals and entrepreneurs, access to new markets, to greater participation in cultural life. For further information on some of the achievements of IFCD-funded projects, please consult the IFCD brochure in the link provided in this correspondence.

Through an open and competitive process, the IFCD funds innovative projects with up to US$100,000, implemented over a 12 to 24-month period. The projects are evaluated based on their relevance, feasibility, financial management capacity and expected results.

Government ministries, agencies and NGOs registered in Grenada can apply. Selected projects may start from May 2027 at the earliest.

Please note that all applicants will have to directly submit their applications on the IFCD online application platform.

You may consult the IFCD website https://www.unesco.org/creativity/en/ifcd/apply, for clear and precise information on the IFCD application and selection procedure. Please note the following information on the procedures for the online platform.

Application process:

  • The deadline for the applicants to submit their funding requests on the online application platform is 6 May 2026 (12 pm, Paris time)
  • The online application platform is available in either English or French
  • Each applicant should first create an account for the online application platform

To process the application, the applicant shall follow the next steps:

  • Create an account
  • Log in on the online application platform
  • Develop and submit the application

All applications must be submitted through the official online platform and, therefore, applications in paper format or sent by email will not be accepted.
