More educational opportunities are being made available for the people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
The University of West Indies (UWI) Open Campus Grenada is collaborating with the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique and Local Government to offer certificate and degree programmes to residents on the islands.
The UWI Programme Officer Kisha Commissiong-Branch met with Permanent Secretary Javan Williams to discuss the programmes. They were joined, via Zoom, by the Head of The UWI Open Campus Dr Nicole Phillip-Dowe.
PS Williams said the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, under the leadership of Minister Hon. Tevin Andrews, is very much committed to ensuring citizens have access to more educational opportunities, which allow for positive progress for the islands.
Discussions focused on training and certification in areas unique to the people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique, such as boat building and cultural enhancement.
