The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development confirms that a request for the temporary installation of radar equipment and associated technical personnel at the Maurice Bishop International Airport was received from the Government of the United States of America.
The Ministries of National Security, Legal Affairs and Foreign Affairs are carefully assessing and reviewing the request in technical consultations, in coordination with the Grenada Airports Authority and other relevant agencies.
At this stage, the Government of Grenada is carefully reviewing the request in accordance with established national procedures. Any decisions will be made only after all technical and legal assessments are completed.
We wish to assure our citizens that any decision taken will be guided by Grenada’s sovereignty, public safety, and national interest, including the protection of our tourism industry, the travelling public, and the country’s economic well-being.
The Government will continue to keep the public informed as developments unfold.

The US are lying about their intentions regards Venezuela. They do not need a huge flotilla and armed troops to combat a handful of small boats supposedly carrying drugs. They are looking at the oil in the area and will probably start a war to take control of it.
Grenada is a beautiful peaceful country and should not allow itself to become involved by allowing the us military to use it as a base.
We do not want nor need to become part of a situation similar to that in the middle east. Installing the radar would just be the tip of the iceberg and we would eventually become a target
Deny there request!!!!
Let us be clear, the US is in a soft civil war created by untrustworthy officials. Unless you get to see everything that they are (the radars) tracking the answer should be a hard no.

Thus is such an irony, USA asking to install equipment at the Maurice Bishop Intl Airport. Last time they are didn’t ask they just barged in,. Lets see how Grenada responds
Grenada’s interest must come first let’s not be a pawn in Trump’s bullying and try to use Grenada against our great friends CUBA and VENEZUELA
