West Indian Cherries or Acerola are packed with vitamins and minerals and is a great for overall health and wellbeing.
West Indian Cherries are loaded with vitamin C and A, riboflavin, niacin and thiamine. The fruits’ high content of vitamin C makes it useful for the treatment of flu-like symptoms and the common cold, tooth decay and gum infections.
The other nutritional contents make the cherries a great treatment for retinal haemorrhages or bleeding in the eyes, however, it’s important to note that cherries alone are not a specific treatment for retinal haemorrhages. West Indian Cherries also help with depression and pressure sores and contain antioxidants and are great for men because it can help to reduce sickness and diseases that men are susceptible to such as heart disease, cancers and depression and helps in fitness and endurance.
The fruit can also aid digestion but when eaten in large volumes can cause digestive problems. Eating too many cherries can also cause frequent urination, kidney stones over time, headaches nausea and vomiting. West Indian Cherries can be washed and eaten raw or made into a juice by itself or mixed with other fruits and vegetables. It can also be made into jams and marmalades.
