The Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports, and Culture announces the appointment of Livingston Nelson as the Chief Executive Officer of the Grenada Cultural Foundation.
Nelson is a well-known cultural practitioner. He comes to the Foundation with decades of experience as a cultural researcher and community leader. As the leader of the Tivoli Drummers, Nelson has been the organiser of workshops and festivals aimed at creating awareness and pride in our Grenadian identity. He also previously served as CEO of the Foundation during the period 2008 to 2013.
Apart from assuming responsibilities for the day-to-day running of the Foundation, Nelson will be expected to develop and recommend strategic plans to the Board consistent with the vision and mission of the Foundation as outlined in Act No. 23 of 1998, otherwise known as the Grenada Cultural Foundation Act, 1998.
The Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports, and Culture joins the Board of the Grenada Cultural Foundation in warmly welcoming Livingston Nelson as we look forward to working with the Foundation in fulfilling the charge given by the Prime Minister to make Culture and the Creative Arts a pillar in the Government’s Transformation Agenda.

Remember, support for all, each little local artist and Vendor not just those who feel all support is theirs because they feel they above the rest. It is for each to succeed not just a few. Culture is not just singers or drummers it is hat makers, rug weavers, chime makers folk artists, clothing designers, soap makers, food creators, every little thing that creates the whole that is singularly GRENADA.
Very true JenJen…
Well said.
