On 17 March 2023, the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) led by Petra Roach and GHTA CEO Arlene Friday, together with GTA’s Nikoyan Roberts and Samantha Thomas-Clyne, and hoteliers Thania Haywood-Stroude and Renata Fielden, visited the travel agency Going Places, to showcase Grenada’s unique products and services.
The aim was to enhance the promotion of Grenada as a prime tourist destination, highlighting the many attractions the island has to offer.
The team presented an array of Grenada’s offerings, including the island’s vibrant culture, scenic beauty, and world-class hotels, emphasising the island’s uniqueness.
Arlene Friday spoke about the importance of the private sector, specifically the Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association (GHTA), in supporting businesses to boost the tourism industry. “The private sector has a critical role to play in developing our tourism industry,” said Friday. “The GHTA is working tirelessly to support businesses and provide opportunities for growth, which is essential for Grenada’s tourism sector to thrive.”
The presentation was well received by the staff of Going Places, who expressed their excitement to promote Grenada’s products to their customers. The team was confident that their efforts would help increase the number of visitors to the Island, thereby contributing to Grenada’s economic growth.
Grenada’s tourism industry has been steadily growing, with more visitors attracted to the Island’s lush forests, pristine beaches, and welcoming people. The efforts to showcase Grenada’s unique products and services are a step in the right direction toward the Island’s continued growth and development.
