Grenlec is advising customers about an issue at its Generation Plant that has resulted in outages in some communities in the South and North of the Island.
The current service interruptions may last for several hours as our team assesses and effects repairs.
The unavailability of one engine which is being overhauled and the challenge with another engine are responsible for some of the recent outages at the Plant.
An external technical support person is already on site assisting Grenlec as we work to resolve the situation.
Grenlec apologises for the inconvenience and thanks customers for their patience at this time.
We assure customers that our team is giving this urgent attention as reliability is among our top priorities.

There is no excuse why the Caribbean was/is not ahead of the curve solar power. Now solar power is a luxury.
No difference in NAWASA failure to increase water storage and government lack of incentives to encourage water storage by residents. All government buildings should be collecting rain water which can be used to flush toilets etc.
The folks in Carriacou and Petite Martinique have been doing this for as long….and it works..
Great points Ermine.
Yes, this phone system, is not an up grade, it’s worst than what was there before..this is just fine for the waste bin…This is a system that’s thrown out in other countries and Flow pick up for free and charge us a lot more for it
Unfortunately, this message was not on the Grenlec App, neither did we hear an announcement. The term North and South failed to identify the specific areas and at Morne Jaloux , we were totally in the dark (no pun intended). We may think we have made progress, but with FLOW bundle, no power means no phone, no TV, no internet, so we can’t communicate to check on family and friends, not even neighbours, unless we holler. Thank goodness for gas cooker and charged Kindle. Grenlec used to be mindful of customer service.
Am sure GrenLec knew in advance. This kind of outage should be made a priority and announcement must be made via print and electronic media before the outage not after. Especially if it’s within your controll. Treat your customers right. We deserve the courtesy. Let’s move the country forward
