As Grenada battles its way through this critical phase of our Covid-19 management, the Ministry of Health again advises the public to avoid misinformation, as it can literally make the difference between life and death in this pandemic.
The Government of Grenada, through the Ministry of Health, is the conduit of official, factual, and credible information. Any information relating to policy and response in this pandemic will come officially from the Ministry, with its insignia.
As the State of Grenada navigates its way through curbing this recent outbreak, the Ministry will provide regular updates on the epidemiological situation, and on the ongoing response mechanisms. The situation is fluid and so too, will be the official information.
The Ministry is asking the public to scale up its personal hygiene, such as the proper wearing of masks in public spaces, frequent sanitising or washing of hands, and the continuous practice of avoiding large gatherings, and remaining 6 feet away from people outside your household.
A crucial element in this fight against Covid-19 is vaccination. All scientific studies show that vaccines are proving to work in preventing severe illness, hospitalisation, and death.
Grenada currently has 2 WHO-approved vaccines for dissemination to the public: AstraZeneca and Pfizer.
The AstraZeneca vaccine continues to be available to all adults.
The Pfizer vaccine is currently available to anyone aged 12 and over, at any of our vaccination centres on Island. This includes the National Stadium, where vaccination is available to the public free of cost, daily.
Grenada’s present allocations of Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines are enough to provide the requisite 2 doses for thousands of Grenadians, with appropriate intervals between the doses. The Ministry urges those who have not yet done so to get vaccinated, to give themselves the best possible chance in the face of this deadly disease.
The Ministry continues to also encourage anyone who has been exposed to Covid-19, or who is experiencing symptoms that are consistent with Covid-19, to immediately isolate themselves from others and call 458-4787 or 538-4787, or your nearest health centre or medical station to request testing. The Covid-19 test is free for all symptomatic people and their contacts.
Let’s continue to protect ourselves and our loved ones.

Good Afternoon,
Hope you’re doing well and keeping strong during these uncertain times.
I was so proud of Grenada, when I notice the excellent and low COVID-19 cases.
Now all of a sudden, sad news on high & deadly cases resulting from COVID-19 & Delta Variant. How did this occur?
I live in Canada and my niece contact me this morning sounding sad, helpless and uncertain whether everything will be okay with her health. She is awaiting testing.
I told her to pray and drink lots of water etc. until the nurse arrive at her home in St. Georges.
Why isn’t Grenada safe all of a sudden?
Wasn’t Grenada on a lock down with employees working from home?
Did we still have Tourist arriving into Grenada behind the scenes?
Is the Ministry of Health tracking the vaccinated and unvaccinated?
Are people partially or fully vaccinated? Is it too late now?
Does Grenada have sufficient stocking of vaccinations “WHO”?
What protocols are in place for organization, retails & offices, business places etc.?
Are people not working from home, similar to other countries?
Are people with positive results being released from hospital exposing others?
Are business places allowing unmasked individual to enter their business places?
What is Grenada doing now to resolve this problem.
If people are at home, how will they get food?
Has Grenada requested help from other countries, nurses, food, vaccine support etc.?
I love Grenada, my relatives and the people. I am praying and hoping this disaster ease up Grenadians and go back to some normalcy. We are divine!
Everyone needs to work together and adhered to the COVID-19 Delta variant rules.
Vaccinate yourself, wash hands always, masking and taking care of your immune system and help others. Pray for doctors and help professional to help get us there. Amen
It’s interesting that Steele and Charles blame all the spread on Carnival parties: “Lets be honest”, they say. No mention of the fact that over 3500 students just arrived in Grenada, and the increase of flights/tourists….I agree…..”Let’s be honest”…….Are they restricting class sizes, or gatherings on campus at SGU, or Sandals, etc.?
The chief problem which Government is intent to pass off onto “personal responsibility” is they introduced a ridiculously short quarantine period to enable tourism to take off… Well maybe tourism has taken off, but so has the COVID as you can arrive at the airport in New York or Miami having caught the virus in the taxi, and being vaccinated you become a super spreader only finding out it was you doing the spreading if you leave quick enough to connect your positive PCR to your recent arrival. The PCR will never pick up a same day or 2nd day infection. It is STUPID to only have a 48 hour quarantine. The PCR needs to be done at maybe 78 hours, not just as you land. Dumb Dumb Dumb.
When it comes to misinformation and suppression of information the hypocritical Ministry of Health leads the way.
How many comments I and others raise asking for information, only to be routinely deleted in blatant cenorship, all to protect the Government Elites?
Maybe if Government told the truth people wouldn’t have seek it elsewhere.
These people are only happy to have us all living in a Prison without bars where you as an individual are not allowed to exercise your God given Freedom of Speech.
Absolutely, to get a factual data backed post that says something against the current narrative rarely gets past the censor, although the banner says views expressed here are no “NOWS” responsibility… so they don’t have to block alternative views.
Yes I agree they are very foolish they only need to look at what has happened in India where people weren’t listening carrying on as normal. Then thousands died.
Why is the Pfizer one pushed for 12 and older? It is still only FDA approved for Emergency
Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the first COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine has been known as the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, and will now be marketed as Comirnaty (koe-mir’-na-tee), for the prevention of COVID-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older. The vaccine also continues to be available under emergency use authorization (EUA), including for individuals 12 through 15 years of age and for the administration of a third dose in certain immunocompromised individuals.

Daniela, read the news. Pfizer was approved by FDA a few days ago. Why do people who knock everything not check the facts first? We have a saying in England “Do not open your mouth until your brain is in gear”.
Daniela is right the vaccine is only approved for emergency use only for 12 years and up. For adults it has been authorised although that is a blinding mistake as they cite information 2 or 3 months ago, not current information where the vaccine is showing an increasing failure to be effective. Reaching the point of being 50/50 which is below the point where it should have been introduced.
We also have a saying in England. Empty vessels make most noise.
Daniela, apologies, I missed the bit about 12 to 15 years old where it is approved for emergency use, the emergency being the pandemic.
Sorry, I didn’t see your apology before returning fire.
Trouble is they are not listening to facts or reason. Their heads are so far up their misinformed backsides it doesn’t matter what to tell them. Sad to say the only thing that may persuade them is a major outbreak of Covid (which will happen sooner or later) causing severe illness, hospitalisation (where will the beds & extra nurses come from?) & deaths which will be good business for the undertakers but not for anyone else.
Anthony…the big Pharmaceutical companies ARE the one making a killing in huge profits.
You accused Daniela of not doing her research, please follow your own advise.
I work in the public health industry. Let’s just say I know exactly what is going in my hospital. And I know it is a different picture from what you ‘know’ and ‘see’.
Information (true or false) is power!
